Proverbs 21:2 - "Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts."
It is possible to be saved but your life to be wasted.
Our salvation is precious and so that means it shouldn't be wasted. One life will soon be past, only what's done for Christ will last.
The definition for heart is, "the spring of all desire, a seed of the will, the person."
The Biblical definition for heart is, "the center of human life, soul and heart are used interchangeable, the heart is the home of the personal life."
Romans says that the soul and heart can not be substitute. The heart is wicked. (Romans 2:15)
There are 2 hearts - a good heart and a bad heart. When I say bad heart I mean a proud, idolatrous, turning from God. A hard heart, deceitful and stubborn.
Jeremiah 17:9 - " The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"
A good heart is an upright heart, joyful heart, whole and pure heart. A devoted heart.
Psalm 24:4 - "He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully."
Salvation causes a heart change from a bad heart to a good heart. It's hard to love God with all your heart when it is bad, however with a changed heart, a good heart, it is easier to love the Lord God with all of your heart. It's also hard to love others when you don't God and a bad heart doesn't love God, only a good heart.
You should have one heart and that one heart should love God with all it's being, love others, and love yourself.
Deuteronomy 6:5 - "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might."
You can show love to God by what you do for Him, by serving and obeying Him through sacrifice. When you obey God you are saying, "I love you too."
Sometimes God tests us to see if we will go to Him for help. (Micah 6:8) (Deut 10:12)
Where is your heart? It can confuse you and cause you to wonder if it's not focused on God. Give your heart to God. Some can't follow God because they would rather follow their own path. You have to give your heart to observe God's ways. You WILL give an account for your one life!
