Psalm 111:10 - "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever."
Having a fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom, and who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom.
God doesn't need or help, we need His help, and when we fail to listen to Him, we will miss Him.
When I say we should have a fear of the Lord I mean that we should be showing reverence. Why? The answer is simple, because of who He is and who we are.
God is all around us be we can miss Him because we don't listen, we don't obey, we don't reverence, and because we try to pay the debt through good works that Jesus already paid! We are bought with a price that we owe and never will be able to pay back. When we forget that debt we miss God.
1 Corinthians 6:7 - "Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?"
We may even avoid God because we know we can't pay God back. We need to be glorifying God because He paid the debt! The Bible tells us to glorify God in body and spirit.
1 Corinthians 7:23 - "Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men."
